Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 18 February 2027, with Eid al-Fitr around 20 March. Working backwards from those dates: sea freight must sail by mid-January, production must start in December, samples must be confirmed in November, and product selection should happen now, in October. Gulf sellers who place orders after the new year typically miss the season or pay peak-season air freight.

Ramadan is the Gulf's largest retail season — evening majlis gatherings, Eid gifting and post-iftar shopping compress a year's worth of gift, home and apparel demand into four weeks. Sourcing for it from China is a reverse-countdown exercise:
| Window | What must happen | Why this month |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 2026 (now) | Select products, request samples, map private-label artwork | Samples ship in days; revisions take weeks you won't have later |
| Nov 2026 | Confirm samples, lock quotes (our quotes are valid for one week, so final-lock late Nov), finalize packaging design | Ramadan packaging (gift boxes, gold/moon motifs) needs design proofing |
| Dec 2026 | Production starts; certification files open (SABER/ECAS for regulated SKUs) | Factories book up before Chinese New Year; certification adds 2–3 weeks |
| Early–mid Jan 2027 | QC, consolidation in Guangzhou, container sails | Sea freight China→Gulf runs roughly 3–4 weeks; mid-Jan is the last safe sail date |
| Feb 2027 | Customs clearance, local delivery, shelves stocked before 18 Feb | Goods must be in-market before the first fast, not during it |
| Mar 2027 | Air-freight restocks of proven sellers; Eid gifting push | Air freight turns slow movers into fast decisions mid-season |
Note on dates: Ramadan 2027 is astronomically projected to begin around 18 February 2027 and Eid al-Fitr around 20 March 2027 — confirm against the official moon sighting, but build your production calendar on these estimates now.
Year after year, the same category families dominate Gulf Ramadan retail — and all of them source well from China:
Private-label packaging converts all of these into a brand moment: a gold-stamped box with your logo turns a commodity into a gift. Plan the artwork in November, not January.
Gulf sellers run two mega-seasons back to back: White Friday (late November 2026) and Ramadan (February–March 2027). The trap is treating them separately: sellers restock for White Friday, sell out, then scramble in January for Ramadan — too late for sea freight.
The fix is planning both orders in the same November window: White Friday stock ships in October, and the Ramadan production slot is booked with the same factories in the same negotiation, locking capacity before the December rush. Factories and freight both price late orders higher; booking Ramadan production in November is the single cheapest decision in this calendar.
See our White Friday stocking guide for the first half of the double peak.
Regulated Ramadan stock needs certification before it can clear:
Because certification runs per product batch, it cannot start after production — open the file when production does, in December.
Missed the January sail date? Air freight China→Gulf runs roughly 5–8 days door to door for consolidated shipments and remains workable into early February — at a price step up from sea. What air cannot fix is missing certification, so if you are on the air route, start SABER/ECAS files immediately.
Our landed-cost calculator compares both routes against your actual product weight and value before you commit.

Ramadan 2027 is projected to begin around 18 February 2027 and end around 19 March 2027, with Eid al-Fitr around 20 March 2027. Dates depend on the official moon sighting, but production and shipping calendars should be built on these estimates now.
Place production orders in December 2026 at the latest for sea freight. That means samples confirmed in November and product selection in October. Orders placed after the new year generally require air freight or miss the season.
Home fragrance (bakhoor, incense, diffusers), gift sets with festive packaging, modest fashion and abayas, iftar tableware, and Ramadan-themed decor and lighting. All source well from China with private-label packaging.
Regulated categories do — electrical items, cosmetics, toys and children's products need SABER (Saudi Arabia) or ECAS (UAE) certificates per batch regardless of season. Budget 2–3 weeks and open the files when production starts.
Consolidated air freight from Guangzhou runs roughly 5–8 days to the Gulf, which keeps proven sellers available through the season. Plan the first air window for the second week of Ramadan, based on your first-week sell-through.
